Major victories for traditional marriage

WASHINGTON - Pro-family forces scored major victories in four states last night with passages of marriage amendments and a ban against homosexual adoption.
Of the 153 measures at stake nationwide, the most momentous was the proposed constitutional amendment in California that would limit marriage to heterosexual couples.Similar measures had prevailed in 27 states before Tuesday's elections, but none were in California's situation - with thousands of gay couples already married following a state Supreme Court ruling in May.The opposing sides together raised about $70 million, much of it from out of state, to wage their campaigns. The outcome, either way, will have a huge impact on prospects for spreading same-sex marriage to the 47 states that do not allow it.Though Democrat Barack Obama won the presidential race in California on his way to wrapping up the White House, the vote on same-sex marriage leaned toward instituting the ban...based on more than 80-percent of the ballots counted. A crucial question was how churchgoing black and Hispanic voters - presumably a pro-Obama constituency - would vote on the ballot measure.According to exit polls, blacks were far more likely than whites or Hispanics to support the ban. Age also was a key factor - the exit polls showed voters under 30 opposing the ban by a 2-to-1 ratio, while most voters 60 and older supported the ban.Obama opposed the California amendment and endorses the concept of broader rights for same-sex couples.
With 90-perrcent of the polls reporting, the YES forces lead the NO camp by a 52 to 48 percent margin.
Amendments to ban gay marriage were approved in Arizona and Florida. And homosexual forces also suffered defeat in Arkansas, where voters approved a measure banning unmarried couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents.

Slap in the face...
This morning I read this on another blog:

This says a lot about what just happened to our country. Why it may sound extreme, there is a lot of truth in it. I feel now more than ever that the outcome of this 2008 Presidential Election proves to the United States Armed Forces that what they have fought for in the past and continue to fight for in the present is taken for granted and exploited. Freedom is not free and over the past few years especially, the citizens of the United States have all but spit in the faces of our soldiers fighting all around the world. The FREEDOM to open your mouth and say what you want, the FREEDOM to vote, the FREEDOM to live in safe neighborhoods and commute to work without worrying about being blown up every morning. The FREEDOM to prance around San Francisco mocking our fighting soldiers. The list goes on and on. Liberals and ungrateful Americans have taken and exploited our Freedom rights to the lowest of the low.
I mean, for crying out loud...America just voted in a President who said that our soldiers were "doing more harm than good" in the Middle East. Are you kidding me??? Since 9/11 our troops have done more good over in the Middle East than anyone will every know because our Liberal media outlets refuse to report on anything but negative stories coming out of the war zones.
Don't you get it America?? Our nation is long gone from being "One Nation Under God" as our founding Fathers meant for it to be. We are now moving into a critical, life-threatening, selfish & socialist realm under the reign of Hussein Obama. Hussein.....didn't we just capture and kill this low-life terrorist?? Oh no, wait...that's our President now. Unbelievable!!! Who, by the way, reported having a "hindu god lucky charm" in his pocket yesterday during the election. Now, let me ask you this: Do you want a President running this nation that puts his "hope" & "faith" in a hindu charm he got out of a candy machine or someone who is going to get down on their knees and ask for God's guidance in times such as now.
Well, I know where I stand and it's not with the ideals & plans of Hussein Obama because he is planning on doing nothing but pulling out all of our troops and making us that much more vulnerable to the enemy. This not only sends the wrong message to terrorists groups and "sleeping giants" of the world but it also once again is a slap in the face to what our troops have done for this country. We cannot rely on this man to move America forward in any way. We have to continue to stand and believe in our one and only leader and his name is Jesus Christ. This is not only a worldly "natural" battle, but more importantly it is a spiritual battle. This is a call for Christians around the country and world to stand in prayer for our now hurting, crumbling nation. Please continue to pray for our country and as hard as it is we do need to pray for our leaders. Especially pray for our troops and our commanders in charge. We have to come together as "One Nation Under God" once again. God Bless our Troops and God Bless America!!

I just need to vent today...
I woke up today with the realization, for the first time in my life, that I am ashamed to be living in a country that, beginning January 20, 2009, has to suffer under the reign of our newly elected President. I now live in a country where post-modern ideals rule and a desire to be obedient to Christ takes a back seat to selfish idolatry. Tomorrow is a new day and I have eternal hope in a Lord and Savior who died for my sins, forgives me for my iniquities and requires me to listen and act on His word. For now, I ask forgiveness as I vent my frustration!
I was obedient to my Savior when I voted for John McCain. I didn’t vote for McCain because he was white, and didn’t vote for him because he is a Republican – he could have been a green alien or a black man with Hussein as a middle name. The reason I voted for McCain and not Obama, is because McCain stands up for marriage (between one man and one woman) and against abortion. It’s as simple as this, no Christian who claims to believe the true and infallible word of God should have voted any differently than I did. Judgmental? Yes, coming from me probably so, but let’s look at what the bible says about marriage and life:
Marriage: “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” Ephesians 5:31
Notice it does not say, a man shall leave his father and mother and join unto his husband. It’s the TRUE and INFALLIBLE word of God people, not the sometimes true and up for debate and discussion word of God.
Life: “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:3-4
It’s plain and simple -- life begins at conception, not when a baby is born, not after some mystical five months… AT CONCEPTION! Therefore, abortion is murder and we all know that murder is illegal spiritually and naturally.
As a nation, we have reaped what we’ve sewn. We are literally sinners in the hands of an angry God. However, let’s not begin to believe that God put Barack Hussein Obama in charge of this country, the people of America put Hussein in charge of this country and that’s all of our faults. As Christians, we’re not doing enough to spread the message of Christ to a lost and dying world. We could have done more, more Christians could have voted the way they were instructed – not just because of the color of one man’s skin or an over-hyped promise of "change."
